It was just revealed that actress Zoe Saldana considered quitting Hollywood after making the 2003 blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Saldana appeared in the hugely successful action-adventure flick as a female pirate named Anamaria and had a small role compared to the movie’s stars Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, and Keira Knightley. The now pregnant 36-year old said that the political issues that went on behind the scenes almost led her to quit the business because due to feeling disrespected and underappreciated.
In addition to starring in Avatar (one of the most exciting, creative, and imaginative films of the last ten years and definitely the best 3D flick I’ve ever seen in theaters), Star Trek, and Guardians of the Galaxy (giving fan boys and girls a reason to go to the movies), Saldana is a bonafide fashion icon. She is absolutely one of the best-dressed actresses living today, always looking stunning on the red carpet. Zoe genuinely loves fashion, looks good in everything, and is a muse to numerous designers and fashion houses, including Prabal Gurung, Balmain, and Calvin Klein. If she had quit acting, we wouldn’t get to be inspired by her style and we would not have gotten to see some of her gorgeous looks.
The girl can do no wrong in the getting-dressed department because, even in her choices that lead to mixed opinions, she looks flawless. And she has those moments because she takes fashion risks.
Here are some of her best fashion moments.
Green dress – Elie Saab
Black long sleeve dress with cut outs – Prabal Gurung
Green, brown and yellow patterned two piece dress by Jonathan Saunders
White belted Oscar dress with grey bottom – Alexis Mabille Couture
Gold 3/4 sleeve dress with low back – Elie Saab
Orange dress – Lanvin dress and Christian Louboutin belt
Black long sleeve Stark Trek premiere dress – Emilio Pucci
Black one shoulder/sleeve dress 2010 MET Costume Gala – Calvin Klein
Black leather pants and a camel coat – Miu Miu
Black and white gown – Vionnet
Silver gown with shoulders – RM by Roland Mouret
Long sleeve top and rose printed skirt – Givenchy
Teal and white pants suit – Prabal Gurung
Thank you for sharing such stunning fashion with me. I admit I know little about this actress; yet, it was such fun to look at beautiful things.

Great write-up. I didn’t know she was going to quit the business. Thank goodness she didn’t. I wouldn’t have any other girl play in Star Trek other than her!
